This is a great site, and was really useful for me in getting a good understanding of what Intellectual Disabilities involve
http://www.intellectualdisability.info/families/ldchildren_ml.htm
This is site about making things, and this area is specifically about arduinos. The stuff up the top is just ordering different bits and pieces, but down the bottom it has a number of videos which explain how to do things with arduinos, which is really great for me, seeing as I’ve got no prior knowledge on any programming/electronics etc.
This is a useful site for getting my head around some stuff to do with Arduino usage.
This is the Centre for Universal Design website: probably would have been a good idea to put a post up about it earlier, but better late than never i guess
but this is really useful for a general idea about Universal Design
A couple of sites that I’ve found that are very useful for learning about the different ‘types’ of disabilities. They are also good link sites
A good article which has been pretty useful in helping me gain direction for my project. Basically talking about what the name suggests (Child development and Toys)
http://www.thenewparentsguide.com/article-child-development-toys-aroode.htm
This is a great tool for checking out lots of existing toys and what skills they help to develop. Its really useful for just checking out what’s out there already, and seeing what they’ve done that has made their designs more/less successful.
This site is pretty good resource site: it’s got some pretty good links, and has some useful information on the actual site itself too. It’s looking specifically at kids with disabilities, rather than toys that suit everyone, but it’s still really useful for that side of the project
